Jenariel and Wesley were married in an intimate ceremony at a home on Canandaigua Lake on Saturday afternoon. Jenariel told me that she met Wes through her horse, Penny, which is so cool- she’s got the pony and Prince Charming! I was happy to learn that Jenariel is a vegan (I’m a vegetarian, for anyone who doesn’t know) and provided nearly all of the evening’s recipes to the catering company… sometimes it can be hard to find a tasty, meat-free meal at weddings, but not this one! The reception was very relaxed, and everyone had a great time chatting outside as the cool evening breeze rolled in off the lake. Some of the kids even went for a swim! Congratulations to Jenariel and Wes, and thanks for inviting me to be part of your day!

I was asked to speak to kids at the Cobblestone School’s Summer Camp as a part of their “Unique Possibilities” program, which exposes children to fun and unusual careers. Even though I’m a public-speaking-o-phobe, I agreed, because I love the idea of the program. I brought in some of my work (animal pictures were a big hit, which I was counting on!), my gear, and had a fun chat with the campers. There were lots of questions- the funniest one was “How famous is your photography?” and my favorite, “How old is your oldest camera?” I got to tell the kids a bit about my 1944 Rollei that was given to me by my late friend, Ed Hannan.
In spite of my nerves, I think we all had a good time! Here’s a shot of some of the kids hamming it up for me.
I had the pleasure of photographing Kim and Shawn’s wedding this weekend at the Skyline Lodge, which has the most beautiful view! We lucked out with the weather… the grey skies threatened for most of the day, but thankfully it didn’t start raining until I was on my way home. Kim and Shawn are such a laid-back, kind couple (they met while volunteering) and I had a blast photographing their day! Below are some of my favorite images from the day.
