Judi and Erik

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Judi and Erik were married at St. Paul’s church and had their reception aboard the Harbor Belle… this was my first water-bound reception! I was a little more worried than I usually am about falling over and breaking all my equipment :) but everything was just perfect. We also had a bit of time to do portraits at Durand Park, which was so pretty with the leaves changing colors.

Some of my favorites from the day:

Cute moment between Judi and her dad during the ceremony.

And finally, I usually don’t want people to look at the camera, but Judi glanced in my direction during the first dance, and I just love her expression…pure happiness!

Wendy and Erik at Colgate Divinity School

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Another beautiful weekend, another beautiful wedding! Saturday started out a bit dreary but by the time the ceremony rolled around it was crisp and pretty clear… which is why I love October in New York! It didn’t hurt that the day before I’d made the drive up from NYC, and the foliage was absolutely breathtaking.

Wendy cried about five times before the ceremony, but was totally cool and collected for the rest of the day- even through an incident involving lipstick on her dress! I think that was the point at which she decided nothing was going to interfere with her having a fun and relaxed wedding day, and I definitely have to give her props for that.

I think this was like the third cry of the morning, when she saw her hair all finished:

Fortunately the makeup was after that part!

I love how they mirror eachother in this shot.

The flower girl was so cute… she took her job very seriously!

Mr. and Mrs. :)

Erik was rocking the first dance…

These two were by themselves dancing in another room, so I had to be sneaky… but it paid off with this adorable moment!

And some portraits:

Thanks for having me Wendy and Erik, I hope you’re having a wonderful time in the Caribbean!

Revolution NYC workshop!

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

I just got back from an amazing trip to NYC this week.. went to the Revolution workshop, shot a few thousand pictures, walked a few hundred blocks (I might be exaggerating on this one), met some great people and had a blast. I was hoping to make a few posts from there, but the shooting schedule and sketchy internet access thwarted my plans. I’ve got a wedding tomorrow morning, art fest Sunday, and a whole bunch of work to do, but in the meantime here’s a shot from day one of Revolution… loved working that Chelsea painting, and there was a guy just around the corner painting over it so I think we documented the last few moments of this cool mural!

More on the way!

Dierdre and Mike in Watertown

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

I had the honor of shooting Dierdre and Mike’s wedding this past weekend in Watertown. It was an unusually hot and humid October day, and Mike was the closest to passing out that I’ve ever seen anyone… it was a combo of nerves and heat, but it was so cute to see Dierdre reaching up to touch his cheek and help keep him focused (and standing!) Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Dierdre looking lovely before leaving the penthouse.

The girls were having a great time chatting and watching everyone enter the church while they waited in the limo before the ceremony… this is Dierdre’s sister Jill smiling as her husband walks past.

Loving the red!

Mike sees his beautiful bride for the first time.

It was quite a lively reception, lots of dancing and fun!

This shot is so hilarious… mohawks are sharp!

We went to a park overlooking Watertown for some portraits, it was really pretty.

The wind was working in our favor on this one, thanks Mother Nature!!

Congratulations to Dierdre and Mike, thanks for having me, I had a blast. :)

I’ll be in NYC for the weekend and most of next week, but I’ll try to post some shots while I’m there!

Sarah and Chris at Belhurst

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Sarah and Chris were married at Belhurst Castle on Sunday. They are such a cool pair- I love my couples! Chris wrote their Buddhist ceremony, and the guys all wore 100% hemp outfits (hemp is one of the most versatile, abundant and strong fibers around!) Their families, from Massachusetts and New Jersey, came together in Geneva for a fun afternoon of celebration and dancing.

Back by popular demand: the ring shot! Sarah’s flowers were absolutely gorgeous, beautiful fall colors… I loved them!

I love photographing the getting ready stuff, there are always such cute moments.

The flowers again ;)

I love this shot of Sarah coming back down the aisle with Chris!

Sarah and Chris cheer after an “At Last” serenade.

First dance!

Sarah dancing with her Grandfather.

Cute portraits

Thanks so much for having me, Sarah and Chris, have a wonderful time in Nova Scotia!

This post is a little later than usual… I got a beautiful new Mac Book Pro yesterday and spent the day setting it up… and maybe caressing it lovingly. :D
