Katie and Brian! Cuteness. When Katie contacted me about shooting her wedding, I had pretty much decided I was all booked up for 2010. But she seemed so nice, and it was a late-October wedding in Skaneateles… how could I say no? Our meeting confirmed that it was the right thing to do… both Katie and Brian were so friendly, and very excited about the photography, which of course is one of my favorite things to hear! We ended up with perfect weather and gorgeous colors on their wedding day… an excellent way to close out the 2010 season!

Let’s start with some footwear. YES!

The ceremony was at Marcellus Presbyterian Church.

It was a sweet ceremony, I learned that Katie and Brian met when he came to install her cable… awesome. :) The best part was when Brian jumped the gun a little. Right after he put her ring on, he went in for the kiss… Katie put her hand up and gave a “Not yet!” hand gesture, it was so funny. The whole congregation was cracking up for a good minute.

We then moved on to the reception, which was held at the gorgeous Frog Pond B&B in Skaneateles. The grounds were so cool… lots of colorful trees and a broken down building that made for some cool images. It reminded me a little of the ruins at the Aurora Inn. Nice!

COLORS! Katie’s dress is so lovely, too!

RUINS!

We’ve already discussed the awesomeness of Katie’s shoes, but I feel like I’ve also had a lot of grooms with noteworthy socks this season. Love ‘em!

Favorite! Beautiful leaves, B&B sign, quaint country road leading into the distance, and of course the happy couple!

They had some great details going on.

Their cupcake spread blew my mind. I have never seen such richly colored cupcakes! I loved the contrasting liners, too. So beautiful! And get this, Katie’s neighbor made them. And I thought my neighbors were rad.

Party time!

I loved the bridesmaids’ dress colors. So perfect for fall!

Ah, happy!

Thanks so much for having me Katie and Brian! You guys are awesome :)

It was a long time coming… I met Emily over two years ago when she was a bridesmaid at Andra and Joe’s wedding. When she contacted me last year I was so excited… I love referrals, they’re just the best weddings. Plus, I get to see my past couples, which is always a treat! The wedding was at Artisan Works, and Emily and Mark had some cool plans for pictures, so I knew it’d be an awesome day!

We started off with a first sight at Emily’s parents house in the South Wedge… oooh that hand kiss. I love it when men do that. Emily looked so fabulous and happy!

Emily had reserved a couple of cool locations for pictures, I’ll start with Hochstein… she spent a lot of time there as a child and her dad (a member of the Mambo Kings!) also works there… music runs in the family for sure!

Dramatic!

We also did a few at Artisan Works… look at these shoes! So unusual, so rad.

More portraits at the end!

The ceremony was short and sweet…

That is one sharp lookin’ bridal party!

I loved the centerpieces, Emily had gathered all the vases from various sources and paired them up in complementary arrangements.

Their first dance was lovely…

Here’s Andra and Joe, looking as happy as ever!

Comin’ at ya… Sunken Gardens at Highland Park! This is such a nice spot for pictures. It’s especially helpful on a sunny day because there are lots of ways to play with the light. Love it!

CUTE!

Shadows!

Extra love this one!

Such a great day and wonderful couple… thank you for having me Emily and Mark!

Susan and Jeff • Skaneateles Wedding Photography

Another beautiful wedding with another great couple! I met with Susan earlier in the year about her wedding and was struck by how warm and open she was and was definitely looking forward to her wedding. She and Jeff briefly dated when they were 14, and met up years later through email. I thought that was cute, but Jeff had a special surprise for Susan at the reception. He revealed that on a visit home he’d discovered an old diary he’d kept as a teen… he then pulled out a framed page of the diary that mentioned the first time he met “this really pretty girl named Susan.” and how he was embarrassed that he ran out of things to say after he’d introduced himself. To remedy the situation, he resolved to think of things to talk about. It. Was. Hilarious. The whole place was roaring… it was such a perfect, funny, sweet surprise. Awesome.

The wedding was held at the lovely Mirbeau Inn and Spa… I was so excited when I saw Susan’s gorgeous dress. Stunning!

Oh, and the gorgeous location!

…and the lovely bride…

…and handsome groom!

The ladies (and dad!) had a long, beautiful walk to get the ceremony spot. Mirbeau’s grounds are so pretty!

The ceremony was a bit late getting started so Susan’s dad made sure to give Jeff an encouraging hug when it got rolling… :)

Even the fish were checking things out.

Mr. & Mrs!

Bridal party :)

Their first dance was amazing, Jeff’s uncle Bob played and sang the Pearl Jam song “Just Breathe”… it was really moving.

Party time!

That’s commitment!

They knew all the words to “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” Think about it. All the words.

There were so many lovely spots for portraits!

They’re so cute!

Oh man, the dress, the dress! Love.
