Babies! (x2) • Rochester Baby Photography

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Here are a couple of shoots from summer (I wasn’t kidding when I said the blog was a bit backlogged earlier!) of some cute little tater tots… babies are so fun to photograph! I’ll start with little Danny, he started off with a couple of funny -and adorable- expressions that had me laughing…

SO hilarious!

Ah, that’s what I’m talking about!

Hey, dimples…

Nothing like a soft, sweet little baby smile…

A fun moment with daddy :)

And, moving on to Sarah… I LOVE seeing my wedding clients come back to me with their babies! Sharon and Todd were a blast to shoot, and a very sweet couple so I was very excited when Sharon emailed and said she’d be in NY over the summer with their little girl! We made a date and met up at Highland Park for the shoot.

This one rules… sassy baby!

Not exactly ready to hold herself up, but I thought this was pretty adorable!

She got a little sleepy.

Ok, that wraps it up for now… I have a couple of engagements coming up that I’m really excited about! I’m also closing on a house May 10th, so I will try to find time to blog in between the 7 zillion hours I’ve been spending uploading pictures to the Sherwin Williams paint visualizer tool. ;)

Finally getting some of these backlogged posts out! I know it’s the “slow” season, but I am finding myself super busy… and on top of it all, I’m house hunting! It’s exciting, but I totally hate this process. I sit for hours looking at real estate websites and just clicking “refresh” over and over. I had a house, but lost it because the seller is a moron… oh well. Bigger and better things, hopefully!

A couple months ago, I got to visit my little buddy Aidan for his 2 year pictures. He is just as adorable and sweet as he was a year ago when I shot his, yep you guessed it… one year photos! :)

Dapper in his pea coat.

Look at these eyes!

Aidan and his dad Travis have matching shoes.

When Aidan decided to put his little shoes on his dad, Colleen and I were hysterical… it looked SO funny! Especially when his pants covered his socks and made it look like those really were his feet.
rochesterbabyphotographer-5

He’s such a good-natured kiddo.
rochesterbabyphotographer-6

I can’t not photograph this kid’s eyelashes… they’re miraculous!
rochesterbabyphotographer-8

I wish every kid was as easy to photograph as Aidan! He should give classes. (Are you picturing him teaching a class right now with oversized teacher glasses and a pointer? Cause I am.)
rochesterbabyphotographer-7

We also did a couple of quick family shots…
rochesterbabyphotographer-9

Look at this happy guy!
rochesterbabyphotographer-10

I looooove the way they’re looking at eachother! And Aidan is kind of giving another Ferris Bueller-esque look… maybe he taught that to Cameron. They are buds, after all!

YAY March!!!! I love March. Yep, we just got over a foot of snow, but March is when the sun starts coming out again, daylight savings begins, and it’s time to get ready one of my favorite holidays: St. Paddy’s Day! Irish music, green everywhere, Guinness cake (yes, you read that right) BAGPIPES… it’s so fun!

On to the pictures… My cousin Kristy has been on the blog a number of times- for her Vegas wedding, of course, and as a guest at a bunch of weddings I’ve shot. So, when Kristy and Tony announced they were having a baby I was like “I can’t believe someone would have a baby just to get on my blog again. Fame really is a sickness.” ;D He he… All kidding aside, they are such an adorable family and it was a fun shoot!

Look at this guy!
rochesterbabyphotography-4

I loooove this picture so much… I feel like this is the exact expression he’ll be making when he’s 6 and getting in trouble. So. cute.
rochesterbabyphotography-3

This is fun!
rochesterbabyphotography-2

But you’re a little weird Aunt Megan.

So sweet…

A little blue steel:

Headed outside for a couple family pictures… I love how the strap on the hat sort of constricts his babycheeeeks!

Cameron was a little fussy (hey it was cold, I don’t blame him) so Kristy and Tony were trying to get him to cheer up, and then he shot me this look. Seriously is this not the look of a child thinking “I have got them wrapped around my finger.” I think they have a little Ferris Bueller on their hands…

And one last one…

Thanks guys!

Sean and Jillian’s baby photographs

Ohmycheeks!
babyphotographs1

I had to start off with that shot, because that is the cuteness I was greeted with when I first walked in the door for this shoot! Jen contacted me about photographing adorable 9-month-old Jillian and her big brother Sean, 2. The cheeks, the eyes, the teeny little pigtails… she is too cute!

Sean is totally adorable as well. He was a little wary when I first arrived:

Then he wanted to show off some of his climbing and cleaning skills (I love to let children do their thing and photograph them playing and having fun):

He did finally look at the camera for about 1/320th of a second but I was ready for him!

Meanwhile, little Jillian was just hanging out… she is very quiet and observant and likes to watch her brother zip around the room. Her eyes are so beautiful!

I had a great time with this adorable family, thank you guys! :)

Baby love!

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Hello everyone! Sorry for the blog-lag. I’ve been off in album-design-land, a magical place where people sit hunched over Indesign into the wee hours of the morning… but don’t worry, that’s when I’m most productive! So far, each client I have sent albums to this season has requested extra copies, which is great! They really do look beautiful, and I’m so pleased that my couples love them so much!

Now, I don’t generally advertise myself as a baby photographer, but it’s something I do once in a while that I really enjoy… so I’ve decided to run a little promo! Anyone who books baby session between now and Valentine’s Day will receive $25 off the session fee! Contact me for details… and bring on the babies!

Aidan is One! Rochester Baby Portraits

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

I had the pleasure of photographing little Aidan for the first time this week… Aidan’s first birthday is in a couple of weeks, and he’s a pretty advanced little guy!  He was so sweet and easy to work with, going back and forth between giggles, a killer blue-steel look, and trying to raid my camera bag.  I met Aidan’s parents Colleen and Travis at Kristy and Tony’s wedding in Vegas, and was so excited when they contacted me to do a session with Aidan at their home!

Aidan was such a sweet pea from the start, he’s definitely the kind of baby that makes people go “Hey, I want one of those!”

Playing it cool…

But unable to keep a straight face as I crawled around on the ground like a big dork:

Here he is breaking into my camera bag, he he!

But who could ever be mad at this little face?

Baby attack! Ridiculously adorable baby attack!

Colleen mentioned that Aidan loves horses… me too, kiddo!

I love this series… he wasn’t totally feeling the cute bear hat, but Colleen and I definitely were. :D

“Are we done yet?”

Those eyes…

And eyelashes…

Thanks guys, I had so much fun!
