Yay for repeat clients! I first photographed Danny a couple of summers ago… he’s cute as a button and a really easygoing little guy. Expressive, too, which makes for a fun session. He started off the last one with some pretty great faces, and things were no different this time around… I can’t even take it, he is the cutest!

And a couple of minutes later… (this one needs to be a giant print)

It’s no secret that I get giddy when past wedding clients contact me to photograph their babies, I just love it! It’s so fun to reconnect and see them thriving and building their families. Michelle and Rob were one of my favorites of 2008, they are just such a cute couple, we had a great day, and the picture of Rob as Michelle is coming down the aisle is still one of my all-time favorites! We met up this fall for a shoot with their little boy, Andrew and it was cute to see them as parents. Andrew is a pretty happy-go-lucky little guy, but was a little shy on the day of our shoot. Michelle and Rob were awesome and so patient trying to coax a few smiles out of him! Worth the wait, for sure!

The slow season is full of fun things like client meetings and album design and all that, but I do have a bit more spare time than in summer and fall. On days like today when it looks like a frozen tundra outside, it’s easy to stay in and work on the computer and watch stuff on Netflix. I love finding tv shows that have been on for a while so I can watch a million episodes in a row ~~and lose all grip on reality (Dexter, Friday Night Lights.)~~ My most recent discovery is “Say Yes to the Dress.” I do not know how it is possible that I’ve never watched this before, but it is amazing. The consultants (I want to be friends with Keasha, Randy and Sarah, and want to have a lipliner intervention with Camille!) the crazy wedding dresses (transparent bodices!?) the family dynamics (“Well, it’s your wedding…” (subtext “But I know better.)) I can’t get enough. I wish there were infinity episodes!

Anyway, I’m sitting here blogging about and watching SYTTD and that’s a pretty nice Friday if you ask me! I do have some actual pictures to post, so… double yay!
Danielle got in touch with me about photographing her son Derek last summer. We ended up scheduling the shoot for the day of his first birthday and they made the trek out from Rome, NY on a pretty fall afternoon. Anyone who knows me knows that I love red hair, so I pretty much died when this adorable little guy got out of the car.

It almost felt wrong to use black and white on a little guy with such incredible coloring, but I like it!

I think he knows exactly how cute he is.

Boom! Two posts in one week! Two shoots of a flipping adorable baby in one week! Look at this kiddo… dear lord!

It is so crazy to be able to meet a six day old person. The first week is a great time to schedule an infant shoot, they’re so sleepy and foldable (ha ha) so it’s perfect for pictures. Kevin and Amy contacted me a bit over a month before Ryan was born to go over details and make sure I’d be ready to go within a few days. When I showed up, they were so relaxed and happy, and our little model was looking super adorable. Look at this guy!

Here are a couple of shoots from summer (I wasn’t kidding when I said the blog was a bit backlogged earlier!) of some cute little tater tots… babies are so fun to photograph! I’ll start with little Danny, he started off with a couple of funny -and adorable- expressions that had me laughing…

And, moving on to Sarah… I LOVE seeing my wedding clients come back to me with their babies! Sharon and Todd were a blast to shoot, and a very sweet couple so I was very excited when Sharon emailed and said she’d be in NY over the summer with their little girl! We made a date and met up at Highland Park for the shoot.

Ok, that wraps it up for now… I have a couple of engagements coming up that I’m really excited about! I’m also closing on a house May 10th, so I will try to find time to blog in between the 7 zillion hours I’ve been spending uploading pictures to the Sherwin Williams paint visualizer tool.
