Amy and Connor • Syracuse Wedding Photographer

Sunny, 70 and perfect. For some reason, I keep thinking that the weather was a perfect reflection of Amy and Connor as a couple. Kind of weird, I know, but they just have this laid back, pleasant vibe and the weather on their wedding day was exactly that. (Maybe I was extra aware of the awesomeness of the weather because this whole summer has been so Florida-ey. And by that I mean gross. I lived there so I can say it, ha ha.)

Finishing touches… I absolutely love her hair, makeup and veil- so pretty!

I had to make this one into a gif… when I went back and forth between the two in lightroom, the perfection of the two shots together was just too much. I love how Connor goes from that anxious, excited, hold-your-breath moment to “ahhhhh” in that brief second. Such a great moment!

There was a great little park right across the street from the church where we went for pictures. So convenient! Lurve this bridal party shot. It’s so nice to have some structures to play with for posing!

“The Company” (I’m a member now, btw… AWESOME!)

Amy and Connor time!

Loved this spot, had to go back for more shots of just the newlyweds!

We didn’t have much time left when we got back to the Crowne Plaza for the reception, but Connor convinced Amy to take a few minutes for portraits in the little mini-park across the street. I’m like a fountain-seeking missile… I can always find them!

A few weeks ago, I met some friends out at ye olde tymey cocktail bar Cheshire. I arrived late and by that point it was at capacity so I had to wait downstairs until someone left. A few of my nice friends came down to wait with me (so then we all had to wait, ha ha) and when I finally made it up to the bar my friends started cheering and the whole bar joined in even though they didn’t really know what they were cheering for. I was pretty sure that was the greatest entrance into a room that anyone has ever made, however I think Amy gave me a run for the money after she and Connor made their entrance. The bridal party surrounded her and got down on their knees as she stood majestically in the center of the circle. You win this round, Amy!

It seems like the ladies are really sweeping the Wedding MVP titles this season. (Time to step up your game, gentlemen.) Tonight’s MVP was a pretty easy choice, Amy’s maid of honor Alex killed it out on the floor!

Congratulations Amy and Connor!!!

Molly and Connor • Skaneateles Wedding Photographer

When Molly and Connor hired me I knew the wedding was going to be a flippin blast because they told me that one of the things that cemented their decision was the fact that I name a Wedding MVP in each blog post. If that doesn’t sound like a couple that’s going to have a super fun party, I don’t know what does! When I arrived at Molly’s house, I basically died and went to heaven when I saw her gorgeous Kate Spades and perfect dress. I mean seriously.

This dress was made for Molly. It looked SO perfect on her!

One of my favorite little moments of every wedding… I don’t even have to look to know the exact moment when the bride appears at the end of the aisle…

Most Holy Rosary in Syracuse is a magnificent church.

There were a couple of mishaps during the ceremony (would it even be considered a wedding if there weren’t?) and Molly and Connor took them in stride.

It’s official!

For a photographer, the best thing about a full Catholic ceremony is a bit of free time during communion for the bride and groom to take everything in… and for me to creep around and take pictures of it, ha ha. So happy!

I love this moment… Molly and Connor didn’t plan an official exit from the church (like bubbles or confetti) so people weren’t standing there waiting to cheer for them, this is just a true, organic moment of utter happiness.

We headed over to Skaneateles Country Club for the reception. I’ll be honest, I was kind of concerned about rounding up the big bridal party after a long drive, but the whole crew was organized and awesome. Well done, y’all. Well done.

Molly and Connor’s turn!

:) You guys are awesome

Party time! Within about two minutes of the dancing starting, I had pretty much decided on my MVP… this lady in pink came out and owned the floor like nobody’s business, but then I didn’t see her for the rest of the night. She was like a shooting star… majestic yet fleeting.

L to the O to the L

Then Molly’s dad came gliding out onto the floor and had a dance-off with his lovely daughter… really giving the MVP a run for her money!

Honorable Mention right here, no question

She liked it. She put a ring on it.

I love these two together. So hilariously rad.

So I thought this was just going to be another “dance around a bottle in the middle of the floor” moment. I was not correct. WHAT! MVP battle heating up!

This is where things got real. So this song started… and everyone freaked out. I was kind of like “Uhhh?” cause it’s kind of an old song. But then I saw why. This is Connor’s song. His dance is called The Jackhammer. And it was amaaaazing. He and Molly teamed up and jackhammered their way through the packed dance floor… it was so hilarious!

I have thought long and hard about it and just can’t decide on one Wedding MVP, so I have decided to dub this the MVP Wedding. Everybody wins!! :D Congratulations Molly and Connor it was a delight to spend the day with you and your friends and family… thank you for having me!!!

Ooooooooooh boy. So what I’m going to start doing is just announcing a blog hiatus at the end of every season so I can focus on editing but also have a deadline for when to return. I just get so wrapped up in finishing editing all my weddings that it’s difficult to switch gears and blog stuff (everything that hasn’t been blogged was shot, edited and delivered weeks/months ago, so there’s no real sense of urgency to get the shoots blogged.)

Anyway, I hope you had a beautiful fall and are all ready for the holidays! I have an awesome shoot to share from the hottest day of all time! Katrina and Matt are getting married in 2013 (yes, 13!) and got in touch with me in April… they booked me over two years in advance which made me feel kinda like

We met up at Syracuse University for the shoot and it was over 90 degrees, even in the evening. We survived though, and came away with some beautiful photographs. Katrina and Matt have been together since junior high, I believe, and you can just feel the sweetness and love in their relationship.

Syracuse’s campus is really lovely.

Mmm, sunset light… I am sitting in a cafe right now with snow swirling around like a snow globe, but I can practically feel the warmth of the sun in these. I love blogging summer shoots in the dead of winter, ha ha!

We also headed to Franklin Square, and heaven knows I love a backlit fountain!

Katrina and Matt were just so fun to shoot, they are so cute and happy.

Really, really ridiculously good looking.

I can’t wait to shoot their wedding, it’s going to be incredible!
Have a great holiday everyone! I have a ton of engagements to blog and I’ll be doing at least one a week until I run out or wedding season starts up again, whichever comes first!

Another lovely wedding! I had really been looking forward to meeting Kelly and Andy… we had tried valiantly but snow and a 9 month deployment got in our way. Andy is in the Navy and just returned from his long deployment about a month ago, so there was an extra layer of joy this weekend. This was actually my third military wedding, but the first one with uniforms, yesss! (To be fair, one of my brides was a Marine, so it’s not like she was going to wear her uniform!)

Everyone was chill and happy at Kelly’s parents’ house as they got ready…

Gorgeous, glowing bride!

Handsome groom.

The ceremony was at Most Holy Rosary Church, which is a really great place to shoot. It’s actually pretty well-lit and I loooove that Kelly and Andy were reflected in the shiny floor!

Loved this sweet moment when Kelly leaned her head over on Andy’s shoulder… le sigh!

I think my favorite thing about full Catholic ceremonies is all the time between readings and things where the couple can have a few seconds to themselves (sort of, ha ha, I mean there’s only a couple hundred people watching.)

Right as Kelly started walking down the aisle, the priest told me he would invite me onto the altar during communion for some shots… I thought that meant just going up along the sides to catch shots like the one above. Obviously I didn’t have time to clarify, because Kelly and her dad were headed my way, so I pretty much had 5 heart attacks when the priest actually stopped the ceremony after communion to bring me up for this shot. Now I know what it’s like for the bride and groom to have a couple hundred people staring at them! Yikes! It was so funny, I’m sure the look on my on my face cracked up more than a few of the guests. Sweet shot though!

The reception was at Bellevue Country Club, which has an increeeedible view from the 7th hole… check this out!

The light was a bit intense so we waited to do most of the portraits around sunset and it was worth it, if I do say so myself!

Kelly brought along this little flag for some pictures, which I thought was a super cute idea!

So adorable!

This is the one and only time you’ll ever hear me say something good about bugs: I totally like them in this shot.

Ok, let’s talk about this party. These people were ready to ROCK. And rock they did! I don’t think I’ve ever seen people have so much fun… the dance floor was completely packed all night long and everyone was having the best time!

Sisters with their grandpa… so sweet :)

There were some acrobatics and lots of dirty-dancing-esque-lifts going on, it was pretty hilarious!

Andy, thank you for your service! Kelly and Andy, thank you for having me! I had so much fun photographing you and your families and friends! Have a wonderful time in St. Lucia!

We all know April showers bring May flowers. But what do May showers bring? Well, awesome wedding pictures for one! Sure, nobody wants it to rain on their wedding day, but when it comes down to it you just have to roll with it.

As I headed to meet the girls at Danielle’s parents’ house, the rain got heavier and heavier, but when I arrived nobody seemed really bothered by it.

Pretty bride.

The ceremony was at the lovely Syracuse Cathedral.

Sweet ceremony, happy couple!

Danielle, Christopher and their bridal party were totally cool about being out in the rain for pictures. It was mostly just drizzling, but still… troopers! I think it was worth it! ;)

We originally planned to go to a park for pictures, but it was just too rainy so we did everything in the plaza around the cathedral. It’s a really cool area and we had tons of pretty spots to work with. I love that place!

Favorite. I think this needs to be a giant print.

Everyone had fun at the reception.

Especially her :)

And him. And me while taking this picture. I mean come on… hilarious!

he he!

This has to be one of my favorite first dance pictures in a while… so happy!

Thanks for having me Danielle and Christopher… I’m sure you’re having an incredible time in the Bahamas! I think I’m going to start including honeymoon coverage in my offerings, this weather is bunk!
