Jamie and Matt’s Oak Hill Country Club Wedding

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

What a perfect day for a fantastic couple! Jamie and Matt are two of the nicest (and really ridiculously good looking…) people around… I was so thrilled when they booked with me last year! They now also hold the title for coolest wedding favor ever- home made vanilla extract! Who knew there was vodka involved? I have a whole new respect for vanilla ;)

I met up with the girls at Jamie’s parents’ house for some getting ready pictures…
sisterly cutness!

Jamie wore her mother’s wedding dress, which is such a sweet idea. They removed the sleeves and changed the neckline and a few other things to update it and make it her own… cool!

Jamie and Matt decided to do a first sight, which is such a great idea… especially for winter weddings, we got to do some portraits before the sun went away! I loved their reactions, just so quietly happy.

The ceremony at the University of Rochester was really charming.

I loved the vows!

Then it was on to Oak Hill Country Club. The toasts were hilarious…

Jamie is a dancer, can you tell?

This was just after the ceremony, on the river… I used the Sunrise/Sunset calculator on my iPod to check if we’d be in time for it when the ceremony ended and we just caught it. So pretty… thanks iPod! And mother nature, I guess. ;)

I stayed up late to finish this post (there were a few technical difficulties) I hope you two get to see it before heading off to Hawaii! I had an excellent time with you guys, congratulations!

Here’s one quick shot from Kristy and Tony’s Vegas wedding… hot!  More coming very soon… I had a blast :)

Kelly and Simon’s Skaneateles Wedding

Monday, October 6th, 2008

What a fantastic way to end my season (in New York)… I was so excited to work with Kelly and Simon, we’ve been in touch for about a year, and they are such a cool couple -and blog-stalkers :D - that I’ve been looking forward to this for a while.

I knew it was going to be a good day when I met up with the guys at the lake house and the guys were getting ready to jump in the lake.  Yes, in October.  Yes, it was about 60 degrees.

They started the shower running before they went out to do this… ha ha!

Then I went to meet up with the girls at Hobbit Hollow, where beautiful Kelly was getting her makeup done. Love this shot of her listening to her bridesmaids.

Getting the veil in place… the veil was worn by Kelly’s mom at her wedding and was made using lace from her grandmother’s wedding dress. I love things like that!

Kelly takes a final look in the mirror, that’s her dad in the background. :)

This is so dainty, I love it.

Simon sees Kelly for the first time!

Love this moment.

Kiss!

They got to ring the bells, which I am a little jealous of.

This was so funny, Simon kind of paused for a picture as they exited the church and Kelly played along with it and started dragging him, ha ha!

Then we headed to The Lodge for the reception… Kelly’s dad grew all the pumpkins that decorated the church and the Lodge. Ah, I love fall!

And the award for Best Use of a Tie during Air Guitar goes to…

he he..

Portraits… we really had to hunt for some fall leaves, since peak is still a ways off, but we found some and I may have rolled around on the ground to get it (I admit nothing)!

This light was perfect for literally one frame, and we weren’t even posing yet!

Then it got brighter, but I still liked it.

Kelly does her best “stern” look, and it’s still adorable!

Buttercup :)

Ok, another reason why I love my clients… I was pretty far away from them at this point, hiding in the cattails, and I said “Ok, lean back a bit!” of course referring to Kelly, but Simon wanted in on it too… this totally cracks me up! I think Kelly liked it too…

And finally…

Have an amazing time in Mexico, I hope I got this posted in time for you to see it! I had a great time with you guys, congratulations.

Off to Vegas this weekend!

Michelle and Mike’s Finger Lakes Wedding!

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Another fabulous wedding!  I was excited to head down to meet Michelle in Watkins Glen… we hadn’t met before, but she was so sweet in her emails and on the phone, I was really looking forward to it.  Here’s the lovely bride getting her makeup done at the salon…

Then we headed over to the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, which I am seriously in love with. This place is goooorgeous. It’s eco-friendly and the decor is so fresh and modern, I love the bold wall colors!

Michelle’s dress is so pretty!

Did a few pictures with the guys at the hotel and the girls at Watkins Glen State Park.

Before the ceremony at Logan Ridge Estates, Michelle took a peek at the reception room, her reaction was so cute!

Coordinator Cynthia Converse did an absolutely fabulous job!
And while I’m at it, Red Newt Bistro hit it out of the park… yum!

I love tall centerpieces like this!

Then we headed downstairs for the ceremony- it was originally meant to be outside, but it rained most of the day so they set up indoors… but that certainly didn’t dampen spirits!

They are so sweet together!

Hello!

The first dance… they are so in love it was like nobody else was in the room!

And father daughter…

The guys gave Michelle a traditional fraternity welcome- class!

And a few portraits between raindrops.

Congratulations Michelle and Mike, thank you so much for having me at your wedding! Have an amazing time in Greece… if you need someone to photograph your vacation, I am available… just putting it out there! ;)

Danielle and Trevor’s Ithaca Wedding

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

I met Danielle and Trevor last fall, we headed to Ithaca for an engagement shoot and I had so much fun with them.  We shot around town and went around the Cornell campus a bit as well, then they treated me to a tasty lunch before I headed back home!
I’d been looking forward to their wedding for the whole year, and the inital forecasts were that the remnants of hurricane whicheveroneican’tkeeptrackanymore was supposed to be heading into New York, and I was really keeping my fingers crossed that we wouldn’t be rained out- we’d had a pretty grey day for the e-shoot as well. Fortunately, it ended up being a bit overcast, but no rain! I met up with the girls at Satori Day Spa for the getting ready, everyone was nice and chill, enjoying the morning.

Beautiful dress!

Sage Chapel is so pretty.

Aww!

I love that the officiant stepped to the side during the rings, it made a nice clean background- thanks!!

Yay bubbles!

First dance!

This was a serious group of dancers… people were up dancing between meal courses, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen!

And some portraits around the beautiful campus!

Look familiar? :) I think I figured out that this is an English Weeping Beech, I love it!

Congratulations you two, I have had such a great time working with you!!

Andra and Joe’s Rochester Wedding

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

If I have one word to describe Andra and Joe’s wedding, it is definitely FUN!  I met up with the girls at a salon down the street from my house, Artistic Designs, on Park Ave, and they were already in full-swing… there’s nothing like hanging out with the girls on the morning of a wedding, everyone is excited and just having a great time with hair, makeup and other preparation.

Lovely Andra…

This girl’s skin is flawless, everyone was jealous! :)

I loved the green bridesmaid dresses… hey, I’m Irish, what can I say?  I love green!

Curious kiddos before the ceremony :)

Woo!

I love this, Andra only had eyes for Joe during her walk down the aisle… so happy!

How cute are they?!

At the reception, Andra and Joe had dance lessons for their guests, and they had a killer first dance!  Fred and Ginger look out…

Sexy!

This was such a fun crowd (told ya!) the dance floor was packed all night long!

Gotta love a singalong… this was either Bon Jovi or Neal Diamond, ha ha

LOVE this shot!

And here are some portraits from outside of the Country Club of Rochester…

Congratulations Andra and Joe, thank you for having me!
